What's New at the Farm

Spring, and Change is in the Air

Spring is here at Seeds of Hope Farm, from mushrooms, to tree buds to vegetable seedlings. Spring brings with it new life and change.  Here at Seeds of Hope we are welcoming big changes as we welcome our new farm manager, John Williams.  John has been working in St Louis area local food systems for many years now and is dedicated to improving food access and expanding people’s experience of their kitchens, gardens, and markets. In his words: “Food is such a fundamental part of the human experience. It has the power to grow, heal and nurture our lives both personally and socially.”

But this year will feature bigger changes than just the new farmer.  As many know, this past year we said goodbye to our long-running CSA program in order to develop programming that will have even more impact within our community.  We are gearing up for a busy season which will feature monthly cooking classes, on-farm workshops and demos, more volunteer opportunities, and increased STEM offerings.

We already have a lot in the works. On Saturday, May 6th from 9-10:30 we’re hosting a free on-farm workshop to help participants troubleshoot and fix their mowers and other power equipment. On Thursday, June 22nd from 4-6 pm, we’ll be hosting an Open House here at the farm.   We’re looking forward to showing off our big changes and hearing your ideas on how we can improve the Farm. Please come give us your input! We look forward to sharing Seeds of Hope with everyone.

Please RSVP by calling or texting Randy at 314 614-0412

Please stay tuned for more farm updates and information on upcoming events and thank you for your continued support!
